This cute rhythmic story is about a teacher who liked everything about Christmas - except the snow. This story was written for my English AP teacher, Joy Cleaver, in a Christmas card I made for some extra credit.
The snow drifted down the town and all around. There once was a woman named Joy who claimed great joy. She loved the holiday season with great heart that it went off the chart. She put stars in jars, sat little elves on shelves, decorated trays with tiny sleighs, and she even put a Santa on an old manta in her class just pass the glass. But, there was one thing Joy did not like with a mighty strike. She did not like the snow for it blew on her glue and flew her the flu. When it snowed on a school day, her students wanted to play. She could not capture their breath when she read Macbeth as long as the snow drifted like a magical show. No story, no glory, no hoary, no quarry, nor no inventory could keep her students attention - not even the threat of detention! While on lunch duty one day, Joy still saw much annoy in the snow as she plowed her way through. She glared at a cute bear that rested in the infested brightness of whiteness. On the bear was a note that someone wrote. "Dear Joy, I know that you hate that the snow, but there is magic in what you find tragic. Shove this bear with love that you have for snow." Joy could not bust all her disgust on the cute bear. Then she cried, and cried, and cried with great confide. She hugged the bear with grand flare. Then she was hit with a small ball of teenage wit. She turned and then returned the earned snowball at the teen. "Oh, how I love the flow of the snow!" Joy proclaimed. "There's no business like the snow business." |
