In my Creative Writing class, we had to write a fable. This is the fable I wrote for that class. It's about an evil rabbit king that comes to throne and steals everyone's voice because he hates criticism. It teaches that people will say bad things about you no matter what you do to stop them. I'm thinking about turning this into a kids book.
Once upon a past era, there was a kingdom of animals in a far away world. They were happy creatures, and many of them had large families. Then on one dark day, an evil rabbit came to the throne. He didn't like criticism one bit and had people killed if they said anything bad about him. Then one day he came up with an idea. It was an evil idea. He wanted no one to talk, period. The next day he went alone to the dark forest to find an evil witch. He found a witch. He offered to give her anything she wanted in exchange for a silence spell. She gave him a bottle that will trap the voice of everyone in the kingdom. She warned him though that if he heard someone screaming, the spell would break and he would die. He told her that wouldn't be a problem. Then the witch vanished in cloud of smoke, without her payment. Late at night, while everyone was asleep, the King opened the bottle. Soon the voices of every animal in the kingdom flowed inside the magic bottle. The King was happy. Even though the animals couldn't talk, they still had a voice in the press, something the King forgot about. The King woke up the next day and read the newspaper. Hoovers the Owl blamed the King for the loss of everyone's voice. In a furry, the King grabbed a sword and marched down to the newspaper's building. Hoovers was standing outside when the King came by. The King pulled out his sword and killed the owl in front of everyone. What the King didn't know was that a chipmunk from out of town was visiting and saw him. She screamed. The King fell over and died. The spell was lifted and the animals lived a happy life until they ran out of crackers and went insane, then they became happy again when they got some crackers and lived a good life. |
